inQbation embraces an agile software development methodology that consists of rapid sprints and an iterative process. Each sprint follows four life-cycle phases that typically span a few weeks in duration. Variation in time is usually a factor of how busy our clients are and their ability to provide feedback.
The most critical aspect of our approach is an open, continuous, transparent communications and feedback protocol. You will never have to ask the status of the project or a task because we will keep you constantly in the loop.
Agile design and development, rapid prototyping, short cycles, proof of concepts
Our websites take shape through an iterative process that leverages a combination of methodologies including Scrum, Spiral, and Waterfall. The Waterfall Methodology follows four primary steps: Discovery, Design, Development, and Deployment. The Spiral Model means that we have several phases or cycles that repeat these 4D steps. And the Scrum Methodology means that we plan development Scrum Sprints, ranging between 3-6 days to 3-6 weeks, resulting in a deliverable release. These methods facilitate agile design and development.

Project management
Perhaps the most important aspect to our methodology is our approach to project management. It is important to us that the process is a positive experience so that when the project is over we are still friends and you would feel comfortable referring us to other organizations. We believe the most effective way to establish and maintain a positive professional relationship is through effective communication, constant contact, and regular status reports – along with competent performance, professional results and radical support.
We are committed to keeping the lines of communication open and leveraging all means of communication including face-to-face meetings, telephone calls, teleconferences, web conferences, e-mails, instant messaging, chat, forums, and discussion boards. We leverage tools such as Google Talk, Skype, GoToMeeting, Balsamiq, Basecamp, Microsoft Office Live Meeting, and our own website client area to communicate effectively. We are also building an internal client Dashboard that allows you to check status of the project, specific tasks, burn rate, and progress in real-time.
We generally respond to emails 7 days per week. Our response time ranges from a few minutes to a few hours. We work Monday through Saturday from 9am to 9pm.
Usability Testing and Quality assurance
We perform usability testing and quality assurance throughout the entire web project management development lifecycle. During the initial Discovery stage, for example, we will employ Card Sorting techniques to ensure that the pages and categories are named properly and organized into logical groups. This makes the website more intuitive and streamlines the navigation.
During the wire framing and mockups phases within Discovery and Design, we will employ a variety of remote usability testing tools.
