Artist, engineer, entrepreneur, web designer and project manager; Blake Newman is truly a renaissance man. He developed a passion and a skill for wedding photography out of college and has been shooting weddings off and on, around the world, for almost 20 years.
Blake has photographed the weddings of actors, actresses, rock stars, professional athletes, attorneys, doctors, judges, royal family, politicians, teachers, engineers, entrepreneurs, starving artists, strippers and bicycle mechanics. His clients have flown him to Hawaii, Italy, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York City, Miami, St. Thomas, Turks & Caicos and Atlanta to photograph weddings. Sometimes, if Blake photographs the wedding of one sorority sister, he ends up shooting the weddings of all the sority sisters.
Blake is an absolute natural at wedding photography. He is unobtrusive and out of the way. But, when he needs to step in, take charge and get things done quickly and efficiently, he has no problem doing that in a firm but professional manner. His photojournalistic candids are remarkable and all about the expressions and emotions of the day. His formal posed portraits are natural and relaxed. Moreover, he does these formal pictures quickly, elegantly and efficiently. In fact, a common remark at the end of h is portrait session goes something like, "that was fun!" Blake pays close attention to detail and captures as many of the decorations and symbols of the day and his party shots are lively and fun.
Blake strikes a wonderful balance in his style and approach to wedding photography. He likes to approach weddings as a team with a female wedding photographer in the beginning for the getting ready shots and often a third photographer at the reception. They will stagger their time schedules with some overlap but usually only two photographers will be on scene at one time - except for perhaps the actual ceremony. Interestingly, the more photographers at your wedding, the less obtrusive we can be because there is less scurrying around. Blake's primary shooting partner, particularly for the getting ready shots and ceremony is Andrea Melo.
Blake has a BS degree in Business, MS degree in Information Systems and is an accomplished web marketing professional and project manager. Blake holds an active real estate licence and assists many of his engaged clients in buying or selling their homes prior to or just after their wedding.
